Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack officially opened a new poker room Apr. 26, 2019 after extensive renovations. The newly unveiled World Series of Poker room features 27 tables. Harrah’s corporate parent company Caesars Entertainment owns the brand World Series of Poker.
Most importantly, the new poker room relocates to the main casino floor from the racing level to entice more customers.
Harrah’s festivities included ribbon cutting, giveaways
The official grand reopening featured a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday with free food and festivities.
The Harrah’s Philadelphia room will then host a series of games and giveaways until midnight.

Harrah’s Philadelphia undergoing more remodeling
The poker room was the last of major renovations that started last fall in a bid to attract new customers. The new sportsbook,The Book, officially opened in January. In addition, The Topgolf Swing Suite opened in February.
Meanwhile, the casino and racetrack’s seasonal patio bar opens in May. So, horse racing enthusiasts get another locale to enjoy the daily races.
General Manager Chris Albrecht told the Philadelphia Business Journal:
“The poker room was moved from racing level to casino floor to have all gaming action on one floor. It was part of the re-imagination of the back of the casino with new sportsbook and Topgolf.”
That is to say, these new additions and renovations “are aimed at keeping customers happy and to attract new blood to the facility,” Albrecht said.
